  • #B091 Drawing in Perspective ~ Drawing Skill Building (Non-Member)
    $10.00

June 15 /  Beyond the Beginnings

[caption id="attachment_13611" align="alignleft" width="300"] “The Delta Queen” Drawing my Erica Magnus[/caption]

    DRAWING IN PERSPECTIVE

    Catalog #B091

Learn to apply 1 and 2 point perspective to your drawings and have the fun of bringing those charming barns, buildings, and interiors you enjoy seeing around you spring to life on your paper.  A sound grasp of how the vanishing point works to give your drawings the depth you experience in life on a two-dimensional surface is the goal of this session.  The use of light and dark, modeling in shades of grey, and applying the basic principles of foreground, middle ground, and background to create forms in space, are skills you will see not only in the drawings and sketches you take away with you, but in the artwork you can continue developing on your own.

Materials to bring include a drawing pad, a range of pencils (2B up to 8B).  Graphite pencils drawing sticks, and charcoal are optional.  The Dairy Barn will lend some of these drawing materials on a first come, first serve basis.

  • #B090 Drawing a Portrait ~ Drawing Skill Building (Non-Member)

    DRAWING A PORTRAIT

    Catalog #B090

Photography has largely replaced portraiture for most people, but learning how to accurately capture the likeness of your subject in a sketch or drawing is very satisfying.  This session shows you how to see the hidden shapes within the human face, use light and shadow to pull the forms you find into 3D as you draw, and increase your skill at observing your subject.  The exercises and individual instruction you receive as you work will help you find the relationship of your subject’s specific features to one another; a key to drawing their likeness .  The visual tools you acquire can lead to a completed drawing or sketches to take home at the end of the session, but even better, the basic understanding of how to make more portraits on your own.

Materials to Bring: A drawing pad, a range of pencils (2B up to 8B).  Graphite pencils drawing sticks, and charcoal are optional.  The Dairy Barn will lend some of these drawing materials on a first come, first serve basis.

Materials to Bring: a drawing pad, a range of pencils (2B up to 8B).  Graphite pencils drawing sticks, and charcoal are optional.  The Dairy Barn will lend some of these drawing materials on a first come, first serve basis.
