Class Description:
For adults and teens ages 14 and older
Conscientious creativity is at the forefront of this class, featuring both printmaking and the fiber arts. Print & Patch students will learn different methods of textile surface design, carve their own printmaking blocks, and print personalized patterned fabric. In the latter part of this 8-week class, classmates are invited to share the fabric they created with each other, as they begin construction of a patchwork bag or mini-quilt project. Participants will take home handmade creations that celebrate community and the renewable spirit of patchwork.
This class is well suited for those without previous print or textile experience, as well as makers with knowledge of some or both methods looking for a new way to approach fiber arts. All materials and tools are provided for participants, including printmaking blocks, fabric, and sewing tools.
