The Athens County Dixie Stompers Live! On the Patio at the Barn!
August 18, 2017
It’s summertime and the brand new patio at the Dairy Barn is open! Each Friday we’ll be hosting a different musician from 6-8pm. We’ll have The Athens County Dixie Stompers this Friday.
Come enjoy music outside in the shade, see our new expanded space, buy a cocktail and have dinner from Holy Guacamole! Bar and food open at 5pm! Many thanks to the Charles G. O’Bleness Foundation for sponsoring the event!
About the band:
The Dixie Stompers are a band that focuses on authentic early New Orleans Jazz from the teens and twenties; the root source of all American music. Their set lists come from the earliest recordings from the beginning of the century. “Coal Car Blues”,” Aggravating’ Mama”, “Sage Hen Strut”, and “Here Come the Hot Tamale Man “are just some of the tunes. This is the original party music of America! The 6 piece band includes trumpet, sax, bass trumpet, drums, piano, and a tuba, just like the original marching bands from the streets of Nawlins! A good time will be had by all!
