Textile Sketchbooks with Artist Barbara Bryn Klare Online November 7th

Posted in: Education

We are offering this workshop for a second time for those who may have missed it before!

November 7th,
1:00-4:00 pm EST

A creative re-boot for artists of all media. Learn artistic principles and find new inspiration using an artistic medium that is sustainable and readily available.

Join Artist Barbara Bryn Klare from the comfort of your own home or studio space and spend the afternoon learning and experimenting with different techniques and methods of creating a series of sketches with fiber mediums.  Part skillshare, and part artist retreat, this session will leave you feeling inspired and empowered.  Use these methods to collect and document dye swatches for quilting, or embroidery stitches for embellishing, or explore color theory and textile design; there is an endless number of directions you can choose to go in with this exciting project.  Share your thoughts, ideas, progress, and work with other artists in the group and get even more inspired.

In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to

  • Explore using a new medium in unconventional ways
  • Use these mediums to develop composition and color theory basics
  • Explore artistic principles using an artistic medium that is sustainable and readily available
  • Document designs
  • Incorporate references to textile designs.

Materials will need to be gathered in advance by the participants. (In the previous incarnation of this workshop, we had offered to send some materials but have selected not to do so for this one).

We love our Essential Workers and First Responders!
Do you work at an essential business or in the medical field, law enforcement, or another first responder field? We would love to give you the scholarship rate to participate at a reduced rate. Email ann@dairybarn.org to learn more.
