Instructor: Erica Magnus

Time: 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM

Day: Fridays

Dates: Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28, Feb. 4, 11, 18, 25

Description:
For Adults and Teens 16 and older

All students interested in advancing their painting skills, regardless of whatever skill level they believe they currently have, are welcome.  Beginners and more experienced painters will both benefit from class exercises and in-class personal instruction designed to build confidence in their individual choices while gaining a solid understanding of painting fundamentals. Using still life set-ups, each of the 8 classes cover the essential elements found in successful paintings, including but not limited to: how color and value work together to build form and how composition, perspective and scale combine for the best results.  Addressed early in the course will be proper care and maintenance of painting tools, whether a student uses traditional slow drying oil paints or the newer fast drying acrylic paints with their very different properties.
