About the residency: The Dairy Barn Arts Center is proud to announce a brand new Artist Residency program for 2019! Part of our larger Making for Good project, the Making for Good Artist Residency is centered on creating positive change in the world through the arts. We invited community-driven artists to submit proposals for projects that bring Artist and Community together to affect positive change. This year-long project is supported by a grant from the Epstein Teicher Philanthropies group. The projects must, in some way, address at least one of the following issues: Climate Change, Disease, Hunger, and/or Injustice. The Project specifically encouraged projects focused on engaging the community as makers, learners, or collaborators. Projects will support local organizations through monetary donations, volunteerism, or the promotion of a message.
We would like to welcome Barbara Bryn Klare to our team this fall season!
What the Artist will do: September – early November, Barbara Bryn Klare will be spending time in the fiber studio turning rescued textiles into usable color squares and assembling them into original works of art. She will also hold a series of workshops, some public some private that involve a wide range of participants to make art with her! The residency will culminate in an exhibition from November 8th-15th where the artists works and the collaborative works of participants will be showcased! Follow Barbara Bryn Klare’s residency on social media and join us November 14th for a closing reception.
