The Dairy Barn Arts Center is looking for an enthusiastic Bar Manager to work up to 20 hours a week. The Bar Manager will be responsible for inventory, ordering, stocking and bartending. The Bar Manager will also be expected to work most events. Most events will be evenings and weekends throughout the entire year, with most events occurring April-October. The pay is $10.00/hour plus tips.  The candidate is responsible for paying taxes on all tips.

Bar Manager Responsibilities
–  Take a weekly inventory of alcohol stock
–  Work with Events Manager to order liquor, wine and beer for the week looking at rental orders and Barn events that will be taking place
–  Restock, rotate and replenish bar inventory and supplies for events as they occur
–  Plan and present a bar menu for each event
–  Schedule bartenders for each event
–  Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for the bar and Dairy Barn patrons
Interact with customers, take orders, serve snacks and drinks
–  Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
–  Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
–  Prepare simple snacks for sale
–  Comply with all food and beverage regulations
–  Handle money and do end of the event accounting of money
–  Clear patio or service area of food and beverage items during and after the event
–  Clean up bar/ service area after every event and maintain a sanitary bar and catering kitchen
–  Run dishwasher to clean glassware during and following events as needed
–  Work with staff and volunteers to oversee the safety of patrons
–  Assist Events Manager with attaining all consumable products in advance of events such as mixers, garnishes and other bar related items

–  Resume and proven working experience as a bartender
–  Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
–  Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
–  Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
–  Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
–  Ability to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis
