Each year for Summer Art Camp, the Dairy Barn hires OU students who qualify for Summer Work Study as Art Camp Assistants. This position is ideal for students studying the arts, early education or social work, but is open to all students to apply. It’s a fun job and can provide great distinction on a resume.
Official Job Description:
The Dairy Barn Art Center is looking for energetic and motivated individuals who qualify for the OU Summer Service Corps and who enjoy working with children for employment as teaching assistants this summer for 9 weeks of Summer Art Camp programming children. Duties will include classroom management, assisting teachers with set up and clean up, maintaining safe spaces, lunch and recess duty. In addition, assistants may be asked to work in other areas of the Barn over the summer including the gallery and gallery shop as needed for events and general Barn activities. Ideal candidates will have an interest in the arts and experience working with children. Undergraduate students studying the arts, early childhood education, nonprofit administration, or social working will be greatly benefited by the experience. Candidates must have reliable transportation. A current BCI must be provided to the education director upon hire.
