$5,000 in Awards presented on Saturday

and Peter Christian Johnson (Kent State University) are the on-site judges.
This second biennial show is open to ceramists from Ohio and non-Ohio ceramists who personally deliver their work or who have another registered attendee bring the entry to the show. The site of the show & ongoing festivities is the former Pioneer School, now PSZ Clay Center, on Pioneer Hill perched above downtown Zanesville 952 E. Main Street, Zanesville OH 43701.
How to Enter: Email register@ahoot.org with your name and cell phone number. Entry fee depends upon date of email registration: now $25 by September 25 and $35 after September 25th. Payment is due on October 5th( (or earlier by check to AHoOT P.O. Box 103 Zanesville Ohio 43702 for those who choose to pay early). Students may enter until September 25th for a $15 fee.
Only ceramists who deliver their one work from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Friday, October 5th, will be photographed with their work for the catalog. Their work will be in the show and sale from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. that evening and from noon – 7 p.m. on Saturday. Ceramists unable to attend may register@ahoot.org and have their work delivered by another attending registrant. Entries brought as late as 10am Saturday are eligible for awards.

The entries must be created in 2017 or 2018, fit on a 20”x20” pedestal top or hang on a wall.
The Awards Celebration (traditional beverages and heavy hors d’ oeuvres) is at 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday and is free for ceramists, guests, artists, educators, collectors and the media. $5000 in awards will be presented at 6:00 p.m. ($2500 1st, $1000 2nd, $500 3rd, two $250 Honorable Mentions & a $500 People’s Choice.)
Monetary awards were earned by five of the 55 ceramic artists who entered the 2016 All Ohio Contemporary. Another major event in Zanesville is the Zanesville Prize for Contemporary Ceramics ($20,000 Best of Show) which will be at the Zanesville Museum of Art in 2020.
The commission is 30% on sales. All entries are for sale. Option for unsold works to remain for sale at PSZ.
