Created over the course of several months, these works reflect diverse artistic voices, techniques, and interpretations, highlighting the innovation, experimentation, and global dialogue shaping contemporary quilt practice today.

Tender Machines and Soft Structures is a solo exhibition by Kim Eichler-Messmer who uses repetition, intuition, color, texture, and shape to investigate balance, memory, and transformation through quilting, sewing, and abstraction. Inspired by Midwestern landscapes, travel, shifting light, and the patterns found in both natural and built environments, these quilts hold joy and sadness side by side. The work honors quilt traditions while embracing experimentation, improvisation, and the quiet tension between stability and change.
