Alix Rondy received her BFA in Sculpture from the University of Akron in 2017. Her sculptural work is primarily found-object assemblage and installation-oriented, though she is also an avid acrylic and oil painter. Working largely through abstraction, Rondy is more interested in the meaning of things than in what they appear to be.
Rondy sees creative practice not only as a means to an end, but also as a process of self-discovery. She has spent the past several years teaching classes and organizing community art opportunities, helping others explore and develop their own creative practices. She believes in pursuing the things that make us feel alive, and for Rondy, making art has always been one of them. She welcomes people from all walks of life to discover their own creative practice.
