Missy Whaley- Dairy Barn Teaching Artist

Missy Whaley has been making art for 40 years. She received a B.F.A. In 1988 from Ohio University in 1988, M.F.A. In 2001 from Temple University. She is a Certified Early Childhood Waldorf Educator, Licensed Massage Therapist in Ohio and Colorado. Missy first discovered her love of felting 19 years ago while studying Early Childhood Waldorf Education.

There, she learned to craft wool puppets designed to bring children’s stories to life. She created Little School in the Big Woods, started MinDCollision Dance Company and has received awards for her choreography and taught at Temple University and at different Fiber Shows. Presently she has a massage practice at Athens Alternative Wellness in Athens, Ohio. Missy’s love for humans is vast and she strives to create opportunities that support and grow people into their best humanity.
